Wanna See 500 Horses Stuffed Into a Crate?  If you like the idea of screaming down the quarter mile in sub 10’s in your old Torana, then ask Santa real nice and he might just get you a ready built engine from High Performance World. Fresh for 2008, HPW have started building complete engines that are Dyno tuned, tested, run in and ready to bolt in and race. Crate engines of this size normally punch between 300 - 330 horses. This one punches 507 horse fair on the snout and it is ready to bolt into anything you are game to attach it to. This engine has hot rod written all over it but if you are up for some fun, go find yourself an old LJ in a wreckers some where for $400, bolt this engine in and rip down the quarter mile in around 10 seconds. Of course there could be some interesting side effects when you try to stop and whether the gear box and diff would hold up for more than one run is anyones guess. If you survive, (we feel confident the engine will) you could take whatever is in your Hot Rod right now and give the other half a scare by popping it in her ‘shopper’ (think Oxy and crowbar plus some heavy duty front shocks) then you have the perfect situation.
